CLOCKS

Whatever campaign you run, time is always a constant. Does your party have enough time to pull off their plan? Whether you want the public execution to happen when the clock strikes ten, or let the incessant ticking of the clock slowly drive your players insane, these clock and chime sounds are sure to spice up your next gaming session.
Sounds include:

Steampunk: Clock

“Steampunk Clock” is a ten-minute, loopable sound effect of a large mechanical clock ticking. It is the same base sound as “Steampunk: Broken Clock;” surreptitiously switching between the two can be very effective and unsettling.

Steampunk: Broken Clock

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, they say. Not this one. The clockwork mechanism on this clock slips a gear every sixteen seconds or so. Play it quietly in the background and drive your players nuts! “Broken Clock” is a ten-minute, loopable sound of a large mechanical clock with a malfunction. This is the same clock sound as “Steampunk Clock,” so surreptitiously switching between the two can be very effective and unsettling.

Clock Tower Bell chimes series

Is it the witching hour? High Noon? Dinnertime in the wintertime? Is the party late for an appointment with the mayor? Sometimes you just need to tell the players what time it is. This collection of bell tower chimes, recorded at a 500-year old church, contains hourly chimes from one o’clock to twelve…plus an additional “thirteen o’clock” sound if you want to get tricky.

In whatever far-flung future your players may inhabit, there’s one thing they’re sure to encounter: Advertising. Whether you’re looking for background flavor sounds, or want to construct some narrative based on an ad (is there a hidden message encoded within the Protean Protein commercial?*), these futuristic commercials will put extra sparkle into your game nights and give your adventures a fresh, clean feeling! Now how much would you pay? But wait, there’s more…

Ads include:

Colony Ad (3 versions)
This ad, promoting emigration to colonies on habitable moons within the solar system or on extrasolar planets, plays from a passing dirigible in a congested future city. Years later, after a tremendous apocalypse, a severely degraded version of this same ad is found playing from a ruined billboard.

Sabertronics
Ad for a line of completely lifelike companion androids.

Kepler Collectible Coin
There are always companies who make money by exploiting a horrific tragedy such as a military attack on a civilian target.

Razgon Recollection
Long-form infomercial for a series of holographic programs about the Great Razgon War. In Infinite Definition!

Rocket Pod Race
An ad for a Rocket Pod race. Nitro-burning Funny Cars at the US30 dragstrip ain’t got NOTHIN’ on plasma-burning rocket pods!

Planetary Defense Corps: Find Your Victory/The True Enemy
An over-the-top dramatic recruitment ad for the Planetary Defense Corps.

Protean Protein
With all of the world’s animals either extinct or unsafe for human consumption, the food industry has developed products that help people get the nutrition they need. Labricultural Consumables has introduced Protean Protein, a meal bar based on protein models from five different animals, with a rotating molecular structure that purportedly resists bacterial and viral contamination. But since the Global Food Supply Safety and Satiety Council was eradicated fifty years ago, there’s no one watching to make sure lab-grown foods don’t cause horrific side effects…

DeLeo-Kaga SuspendLife™: Comfort You Don’t Notice
Ad for suspended animation chambers, aimed at interstellar business travelers who have had less-than stellar experiences with long space flights.

You stand at the floor-to-ceiling windows at the back of the gondola and watch the city fade into the distance. In a mere 50 hours, you’ll be at your destination. Behind you, the steady hum of the airship’s propellers becomes a soothing drone, and only occasional gusts of wind remind you that you’re thousands of feet in the air. This is the only civilized way to travel, you think to yourself.

The Dirigible track is a 10-minute ambience that loops seamlessly, and features a constant sound of multiple propellers and occasional blasts of wind.  This is a perfect background sound for airship travel in Steampunk, early 20th-century Cthulhu games and…is there a “Fringe” RPG?

* This effect was originally released in a three-minute version on our Twentieth Century album. It was lengthened and remastered for this release.

You’ve got the demon right where you want him. The smug sonofabitch just walked right into the center of the circle of blood sigils you hid under the throw rug. Before I gank you, you’re gonna spill, buttwipe.

This effect is the sound of a modern lighter igniting a magic flame that burns for ten minutes. If your party needs to question the demon for longer, we’ve included our Demon Flame Loop – ten minutes that loops seamlessly for as long as you wish.

(For Steampunk/Early 20th Century demon hunter games)

You have the demon right where you want it. It’s just walked right into the center of the circle of blood sigils you painted on the floor. Before it knows what’s happening, you light a stick match and touch it to the blood. The circle erupts in a magical flame that spreads out to both sides and surrounds the demon in a second.

Shall we begin our conversation, hellspawn?

This effect is the sound of a wooden stick match igniting a magic flame that burns for ten minutes. If your party needs to question the demon for longer, we’ve included our Demon Flame Loop – ten minutes that loops seamlessly for as long as you wish.

The daemon has walked right into your carefully-laid trap; directly into the center of the circle of blood sigils on the stone floor. In the dim light of this dank dungeon, it was easy to conceal it with some hastily-arranged dirt and pieces of rat dung.  You touch your torch to the edge of the circle, and the floor erupts in a magical flame.

Now, daemon, we will talk.

This effect is the sound of a torch igniting a magic flame that burns for ten minutes. If your party needs to question the demon for longer, we’ve included our Demon Flame Loop – ten minutes that loops seamlessly for as long as you wish.
